Oiseau Rock - Half day outing including a two night stay at Arbour Vitae
Oiseau Rock is located on the Ottawa River in Pontiac County, Quebec, and is a 1.5 hour drive from Ottawa. Oiseau rock contains pictographs created by the Algonkian-speaking peoples. This location possesses many of the typical attributes of a sacred site: a vertical rock wall immediately beside the water. The sky, land and water meet permitting the spirits to travel from this world to the next. We will visit Oiseau Rock Friday, sleeping at Arbour Vitae Friday and Saturday night. Saturday we will discuss the findings, insights and messages you bring back from the sacred site of Oiseau Rock.
You will need a sleeping bag and food; shower and cooking facilities are available. Location is Arbour Vitae, a 45-minute drive from Ottawa, on the Rivière Blanche in St-Pierre de Wakefield.
Cost: $210.00 includes a two hour boat ride on the Ottawa River.
Limited to 6 participants.
Friday, June 17, 2011 starting at 8:00 a.m., until 1:00 p.m. Sunday. |

| Petroglyph Tour - Includes an adventure to Bon Echo Park, Petroglyph Park and Rice Lake's Serpent Mounds. Five days and Four nights sleeping at Serpent Mounds Park in an Eco Cabin. I was guided to create a tour that would connect sacred waterways and events along a particular time-line that vibrate with Aboriginal energy. |

Day one of trip we travel to Bon Echo Provincial Park to tour Lake Mazinaw. We visit the pictographs via boat, unlike petroglyphs, these drawings are not carved in the rock, the Natives used crushed hematite stone to create red ochre and painted deeply symbolic images on the rock face just above the water. Then you can walk among the trees along the shore of the lake, go for a swim, and take photos of the Elemental Beings. At 4:00 p.m. we drive to our base camp where we will be sleeping for the four nights in Eco Cabins at Serpent Mounds in Keene, Ontario. Enjoy a relaxing evening around the fire, listen and share your experiences from the Sacred Site.
Day two we explore the land around our cabins, the vibration of Rice Lake, a visit to the Serpent Mounds Museum, a tour of the actual Mounds by a Native guide. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to explore Serpent Mounds on your own. What guides will you meet along the way? What element does the lake carry to this Sacred Site?, all for you to discover at a slow and relaxing pace in the company of your fellow travelers, or on your own. Listen and share your findings around a fire at night.
Day three head to Petroglyph Park in the morning stopping at various rock formations along the way. The arrival to the park is impressive; as soon as you pull off the main road onto the park property you will feel a sudden energy shift. Visit the park, the museum and the Teaching Rock, departing at 4:00 p.m.. We will dine in the small town of Lakefield, followed by a camp fire to discuss the Petroglyphs and the energy hot spots in Petroglyph Park.
Day four visit the second-hand book shops in Peterborough! For a small city you will be amazed at the variety of books available from these shops. The book stores are on the same street, all in a row. Book browsing and shopping does not get any easier. Hope you love books as much as I do, because this town is great! After perusing the bookshelves you can relax in any number of alternative cafes in the area. Returning to Serpent Mounds after dinner for a late night swim if you so choose or a walk around Serpent Mounds in the light of the moon.
Day five return to Ottawa by 4:00 p.m. bringing with us a new vibration of sacred earth, air, fire, water and Mana!
Costs: $555.00 (food not included).
Limited to 3 participants.
Monday, July 4, 2011 from 8:00 a.m., arriving back in Ottawa on Friday, July 8, at 4:00 p.m.
Testimonials
It was a dream come true. I had always wanted to see the Teaching Rocks and Serpent Mound. Bon Echo was already a favourite place. These sacred sites are enormously special. They offer us a taste of the cultural history and nature spirituality of our Native fore-fathers and Ancestors. It is a journey into the nature of Spirit, and the spirit of Nature. Thank you, Adrienne, for making this happen.
